Hurray! Two of my prints have been accepted into the 47th Ballarat National Photography Exhibition. The exhibition is open to the public from 12th December at the Art Gallery of Ballarat. If you're passing or need an excuse to visit, please pop in and take a look. Mine aside, there will be plenty of magnificent images on display from across Australia.
Have fun! Matt

I'm really excited to share a new series of images. Put together from my trips to various parts of Asia over the past twelve months, they show life on the streets of Singapore, Yangon, Kuala Lumpur, Manila and Shanghai when the workday is done. For some it's a time to relax, worship or find somewhere to eat and have fun, for others the work is only just beginning.
Take a look, share with your fiends and I hope you enjoy seeing some of the wonderful people in this amazing region of the world. Thanks, Matt The blog has been quiet for a long time but hopefully this post makes up for it! I've added a new page full of images from my recent trip to Yangon in Myanmar (Burma). An incredible place emerging from decades of seclusion. The country is full of hope and the people exhibit great pride and dignity. I hope they can break the cycle of history and realise their vision whilst retaining that pride and dignity.
Take a look, click the picture. Matt I recently spent the afternoon in a workshop run by Greg Desiatov and fellow members of the Frankston Photography Club to learn about creative lighting and portraiture. These are a few of the images I managed to produce. Click or tap the image to see the rest.
Thanks, Matt Here are the two images that I've entered into the Click 2015! Photography prize. If you want to go along and see them, the exhibition is at Brunswick Street Gallery in Fitzroy from September 4th until September 17th.
Matt My entries are now printed, ready for mounting for the Click 2015 photography prize exhibition at Brunswick Street Gallery. I'll have 2 entries fabulously printed by SMLXL in Prahran. The images have to be 80cm or smaller with mounts and/or frames. I have to say I like seeing the images printed nice and big. Mine are about 60cm or just shy of 2 feet square in old money.
If anyone wants to see the exhibition it runs from 4th September to 17th September. Matt Added a couple of new images to the Exhibitions and Galleries pages. This one was taken last weekend from Chelsea beach, looking across the bay. The sky and light were just incredible. Such rich colours and textures from the cloud formations. Just as the sun dipped below the horizon, I waited for this paddle-boarder to come into shot and complete the image. It's difficult to imagine that this was taken in the middle of winter; it looks more like mid-summer!
Take a look at some of the other images. Hope you enjoy. Matt I've published two new exhibition sets to the website. Small Works 2015 is the set of artwork that I exhibited as part of the Brunswick Street Gallery exhibition "Small Works 2015". The exhibition was fantastic, with over 800 pieces on display covering so many different mediums.
The Bay is a new set that I'm still building. It contains artwork of Port Philip Bay that I've created over the past few months. It's still evolving so it will grow and change over the coming weeks and months I'm sure! Click the Exhibitions tab to see them. Hope you enjoy, remember to let me know what you think! Thanks, Matt My picture and the rest of The Lens Mist exhibition has now moved to the Kingston Arts Centre G1 Gallery and will remain there until Tuesday 28th April.
G1 Gallery 979-985 Nepean Hwy, Moorabbin. Click here for more information. Opening Hours: Mon to Fri, 9am - 5pm, Sat, 12 - 5pm FREE Entry Please come along and see all the finalists' images (including mine of course). Thanks, Matt More exciting news! I have two prints accepted in Vigex 2015. Vigex is an international photographic exhibition held in Geelong and run every two years. It attracts around 2,000 entries from Australia and overseas. The exhibition accepts around 20% of the entries for inclusion. My images will be projected as part of two seperate displays one at the Melbourne Camera Club on 30th April and the other at the Geelong Camera Club on 13th May. Very happy!
